Thanks. What colors make up the color Burgundy and what colors complement it?
So there are so many different decorating schemes that have burgandy in them.
Cream, burgandy, light pink, and sage - shabby chic
Burgandy, Gold (not yellow but shiny gold), Navy, Forrest green - jewel tones are very classic
Burgandy, Bright Red, Yellow (deep) and black - asian concepts
A house I recently visited had a deep burgandy wall, and then they did the other three in a shiny gold painting technique that was awesome. The furniture was chocolate brown. Then they accented with dark tan, and eggplant. It was awesome. What colors make up the color Burgundy and what colors complement it?
REd Blue and brown depending upon the shade you want. My favorite complimentary colors are greys and yellows. Use a color wheel (Google it) and look at primary and secondary as well as tertiary colors. You will see how it all works.
Red, brown, blue in varying mixture.
All reds of all hues look OK with burgundy.
Cream is stunning as an accent.
Chocolate can be nice too.
I would say that red and brown are base colors that make burgundy. To answer what compliments the color, I would use green shades, such as sage, olives, moss, dark greens. Black goes good with it, too, you could add it in your color scheme, and golds would also blend in nicely with all these shades combined in a room. Good luck, and have fun decorating!
