If you really want to be a music producer, you need to understand your equipment, I suggest you REALLY read into it, dig through articles in wiki and google. There is a TON of information on speakers. Sound quality is not just about the Watts. SPL (Sound Pressure Level) for example is much more important. Watts is just the power the speaker uses. You need alot of Watts to push a brick but it wont sound good.

You need to look at such things as speaker sensitivity (rated in Db's) and you need to know the range of frequency for your speakers. Is your room big or small? are the speakers in a sealed box or ported? BandPass? crossover? Too many things to ask or explain. it's going to take you some time, you need to know the tools of your trade. Get some efficient speakers and start at 1000Watts (it's a solid baseline for beats) but you might need alot more depending on the number of speakers and the size of your room.
